In a game for the baseball purist, Allie Reynolds(2-0) and Jim Wilson(2-2)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, Pittsburgh Pirates finally emerged
victorious over Boston-AL Red Sox, 3 to 1.

Pittsburgh jumped out to the early lead in the first inning plating one
baserunner using 3 hits.  Dale Mitchell singled.  Two outs later Del Ennis
came to bat and tripled.  Yogi Berra then lined a single scoring the run.
For the game Pittsburgh out-hit Boston-AL 9 to 4.
