Irv Young had a complete game and Patsy Dougherty blasted a homerun and had 3
RBI as the New York-NL Giants topped the Philadelphia-NL Phillies by a score
of 5 to 3 at Baker Bowl.

Philadelphia-NL was unable to recover after New York-NL went ahead in the top
of the 6th inning when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits.  The key offensive
moment was provided by Harry Lumley who quieted the home crowd when he lifted
one out of the park for a two run home run.  Both teams ended up with 9 hits
on the afternoon.  

Young(2-1) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. George
Winter(0-4) was charged with the loss.  He gave up 5 runs and 7 hits in 7
innings.
