TEAM RISP- Superbas: 10 for 24 Phillies: 3 for 9

Pat Ragan allowed Bill Dahlen to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at
Baker Bowl as the Brooklyn Superbas belted the Philadelphia Phillies by the
count of 18 to 3.

Benny Meyer enjoyed a big day at the plate. He lined a single in the 3rd
inning, stroked a one-base hit which brought home a run in the 5th inning and
lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 6th inning.
Brooklyn kept the scorekeepers busy in the 2nd inning when they had 4 runs on
4 hits and the 6th inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 5 hits. The
Brooklyn offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.

Ragan(1-0), allowing 3 runs for the game, picked up the victory. George
Chalmers(0-1) was given the loss. He was unable to control the Brooklyn
offense and allowed 12 hits and 5 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
