At Bennett Park the Cincinnati Reds outdistanced the Detroit Tigers by a final score of 7 to 3. Cincinnati had the game winning rally in the 8th inning with 3 runs. After an out was recorded, Johnny Kling began the rally when he smacked a single. George Mullin then uncorked a wild one that found its way to the backstop. After another out, Ed Abbaticchio then drew a walk. John Ganzel stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Jimmy Sheckard stepped into the box and drew a walk which brought home a run. Doc Casey did his part to keep things going and reached on an error as two more runners crossed the plate. Cincinnati had 11 hits for the game and Detroit had 7. The win was credited to Cy Falkenberg(1-0) who went 1 inning allowing no runs. Mullin(0-4) was the losing pitcher. Cincinnati continued their winnings ways improving their record to a division leading 11-5. They are 8-2 in their last ten games. Jim Murphy was unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'
