With the crowd on their collective feet, screaming at the top of their lungs,
Washington Senators rallied to top St. Louis-NL Cardinals by the score of 12
to 11.

Washington came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning as they
scored 6 runs on 4 base hits.  Despite losing, St. Louis-NL out-hit
Washington 15 to 11.  

The victory went to Bob Ewing(1-4) who went 1 inning, allowing 3 runs. Elmer
Bliss(0-1) was given the loss in relief.  He pitched 1/3 of an inning giving
up 1 hit and no walks.

'What a game!,' Ewing said afterward.  'When we won it I almost couldn't
believe it!'
