George Stone had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Boston-AL
Americans by a score of 11 to 4 at Huntington Ave Grnds.

Stone provided much of the offense.  He launched a three-run homer in the 1st
inning, doubled resulting in a run in the 3rd inning, slapped a single in the
4th inning and lined a one-base hit in the 8th inning.  Detroit kept the
scorekeepers busy in the 3rd inning when they had 4 runs on 6 hits.  Detroit
out-hit Boston-AL for the game, 21 hits to 14.  

Jesse Tannehill(1-0) got the win allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Tannehill was
helped out by Ed Walsh who recorded his 1st save.  Joe McGinnity(0-4) was the
loser.  He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 2 innings.
