The game started off with Cincinnati taking the lead in the first plating one
baserunner.  Cincinnati kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they
scored in 6 different innings.  

The win went to Warren Hacker(1-0) who allowed 5 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Hacker got help from Mickey McDermott who earned his 1st save.  Bob
Lemon(0-1) was the loser.  He was knocked around, surrendering 8 runs in 5
innings.
