The Brooklyn Dodgers batters feasted on the Kansas City Athletics pitching at
Municipal Stadium. The final score was a lop-sided 12 to 4.

Brooklyn went ahead for good in the top of the 2nd inning scoring 2 runners on

partisan fans when he clubbed a two-run home run. Brooklyn had 16 hits
overall, while Kansas City had 12.

Harvey Haddix(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 and 1/3
innings. Lew Burdette(0-2) was tagged with the loss. He allowed a few too
many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
