Cy Morgan held Washington to 2 hits as the Philadelphia Athletics bested the
Washington Nationals 3 to 1 at Shibe Park.

Philadelphia took the lead for good in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring
one runner on 3 base hits.  After two were out Danny Murphy ripped a solo
home run.  Philadelphia had 9 hits for the afternoon.  

Morgan(1-0) got the victory, allowing 1 run for the game. Dixie Walker(0-1)
was the losing pitcher.  He gave up 3 runs and 9 hits in 8 innings.  

'We didn't have a whole lot of chances today,' Clark Griffith said.  'Morgan
just was too much for our guys.'
