easily topped the New York-AL Yankees; the final score was 13 to
3.

Boston-AL scored 10 runs in the top of the 7th inning when they had 8 base
hits.  The biggest moment was provided by Birdie Tebbetts who quieted the
home crowd when he ripped a base-hit scoring two baserunners.  For the game
Boston-AL out-hit New York-AL 14 to 8.  

Mickey McDermott(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 and 1/3 innings
and allowing no runs. Sid Hudson(0-1) was given the loss.  He was touched for
9 hits and 5 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
