Del Crandall jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI as the Cincinnati
Reds beat the Washington Nationals in 12 innings by a score of 6 to 5.

Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings.  Finally, Cincinnati
prevailed in the 12th inning.  After two were out Whitey Lockman got things
going when he laced a base-knock.  Larry Doby followed next and he blasted a
two-run home run making Cincinnati the winners and sending the 12,250 fans
home happy.  Cincinnati had 14 hits for the game and Washington had 11.

Tom Poholsky(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 1 inning. Roy
Face(0-2) was the loser in relief.  He surrendered 2 runs and 6 hits in 4 and
2/3 innings.
