TEAM RISP- Red Sox: 8 for 18 Yankees: 2 for 8

Left fielder Ted Williams lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI at
Yankee Stadium where the Boston-AL Red Sox beat the New York-AL Yankees by
the score of 11 to 8.

Hal White(1-0) looked good in relief and was the winning pitcher. He allowed
just 1 hit and no walks in 1 inning. New York-AL was out-hit by Boston-AL,
17 hits to 12.

White got help from Tom Ferrick who was credited with his 1st save. Fred
Sanford(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 7 hits and 3 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Left fielder Ralph Kiner ripped 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI but it wasn't enough
for New York-AL.
