Jim Scott pitched a 2 hit shutout as the Chicago White Sox defeated the St.
Louis Browns by a score of 1 to 0 at Sportsman's Park.

Scott(1-0) was on top of his game. He didn't allow much, just 2 hits and 2
walks in 9 innings. Chicago had only 4 hits for the game.

Carl Weilman(0-1) absorbed the loss. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not
allow an earned run in his 8 innings of work.

'When Scott is on like that it is a tough game to play, no doubt about it,'
Branch Rickey said. 'He always pitches well against us.'
