Athletics defeated the Chicago-NL Cubs 6 to 5.

In the 5th inning Philadelphia-AL scored 4 runs with the help of 3 hits.  It
was enough scoring to earn the victory.  The Chicago-NL batters didn't put up
a fight in the bottom of the 9th.  

The winning pitcher was Bob Lemon(1-0) who allowed 5 runs in 7 innings. Lemon
got help from Fritz Dorish who was credited with his 1st save.  Johnny
Sain(1-1) took the loss.  He allowed 7 hits and 4 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Philadelphia-AL continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 7 games
