Third baseman Home Run Baker knocked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Harry Krause
had a complete game at Shibe Park as the Philadelphia Athletics beat the New
York Highlanders 11 to 5.

Baker was in a groove all day. He launched a three-run homer in the 5th
inning, doubled resulting in a run in the 6th inning and clubbed a solo home
run in the 8th inning. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.

The win was credited to Krause(1-0) who went the whole way allowing 5 runs.
Ray Caldwell(0-1) absorbed the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 16 hits and
4 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.

'I had good swings today,' Baker said, 'Everything felt right'.
