It was an amazing offensive display in League Park where the Cincinnati Reds
beat the Chicago Orphans by the score of 11 to 10 in 11 inning.

The game was deadlocked at 8 after nine full innings.  Finally, Cincinnati
prevailed in the 11th inning.  Kip Selbach kicked off the action when he
ripped a single.  Algie McBride followed and he doubled scoring a single run.
After another out, Tommy Corcoran dug into the batters box next, but he
struck out.  Bid McPhee followed next and he reached on an error scoring
another run.  Jake Beckley came to the plate and doubled resulting in a
mighty exciting win for Cincinnati and the 4,561 home town fans in
attendance.  Chicago out-hit Cincinnati 16 to 12, but Cincinnati ended up
with more runs.  

Bill Dammann(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 1 inning. The loss was
charged to Jack Katoll(1-1) in relief.
