Vic Willis completed the game without help from the bullpen and Herman Long
had 4 hits and scored 3 times at Washington Park as the Boston Beaneaters
beat the Brooklyn Superbas by the count of 9 to 4.

Boston jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they scored 2
runs on 3 hits.  Boston dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different
innings.  

The victory went to Willis(1-0) who went the distance allowing 4 runs. Jack
Dunn(0-1) was the loser.  He was touched for 15 hits and 2 walks in 9
innings.
