In a tight game it was the Boston-NL Beaneaters 4, the Cincinnati Reds 2 at
Palace of the Fans.

Boston-NL erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs on
2 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Charlie Hickman began the Boston-NL
spurt when he doubled.  Pug Bennett stepped up next and he drew a walk.
After another out, Ben Koehler was walked intentionally to load the bases.
Socks Seybold followed and he slapped a single plating two runs.  Seybold
took second on the throw.  Cincinnati was out-hit by Boston-NL, 12 hits to 8.

The win was credited to Charlie Chech(1-1) who went 1 inning allowing 1 run.
Chech got help from Len Swormstedt who was credited with his 6th save.
Christy Mathewson(0-1) was charged with the loss.  He got hit pretty hard,
allowing 12 hits and 6 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.
