Second baseman Del Pratt had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Earl Hamilton allowed
Branch Rickey to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the St. Louis
Browns beat the Detroit Tigers by a score of 7 to 2.

The game started off with St. Louis taking the lead in the first plating 2
runs using 3 hits.  After an out was recorded, Jimmy Austin kicked off the
action when he banged out a single, and an error was also committed.  Pratt
next to the plate and he tripled resulting in a run.  Gus Williams got his
chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.  Tillie Walker was
up next and he drew a walk.  John Leary came to the plate and ripped a single
scoring the final run of the inning.  St. Louis rapped out 11 hits for the
afternoon.  

The victory went to Hamilton(1-0) who went the distance allowing 2 runs. Harry
Coveleski(0-1) ended up with the loss.  He surrendered 7 runs and 11 hits in
9 innings.
