Gus Williams went the distance at Ridgewood Park as the Brooklyn Gladiators
won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the Syracuse Stars by the count
of 3 to 2.

Brooklyn came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2
runs using 3 hits.  After an out was recorded, Peter Connell began the rally
when he doubled.  Connell stole third and scored when the ball ended up in
the outfield.  Herman Pitz then delivered a base-hit.  Brooklyn continued
their aggressive style with another stolen base.  Joe Gerhardt came up to bat
and slapped a single making Brooklyn the victor and beginning a joyous home
town celebration.  Brooklyn had only 6 hits for the afternoon.

Williams(1-0) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Frank
Keffer(0-1) suffered the loss in relief.  He pitched 1/3 of an inning giving
up 3 hits and no walks.
