Clark Griffith didn't allow a hit until the 7th inning as the New York-AL
Highlanders really laid it on the Pittsburgh Pirates 12 to 0.

Griffith(2-0) escaped virtually unscathed against the Pittsburgh hitters. He
didn't give up much, just 1 hit and 1 walk in 9 innings improving his ERA
from 2.25 to 1.06. The right-handed Griffith had his no-hit bid broken up by
Frank Bowerman who singled with two outs in the 7th inning. Offensively, New
York-AL was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

Watty Lee(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 6 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Rich O'Haire was very impressed with his pitcher, Griffith, 'He had unusually
good pitch placement this afternoon. It was almost unfair - but a beautiful
game to watch from where I sat'
