In a close game the Cincinnati Reds got by the Chicago-NL Cubs in 10 innings
by the score of 4 to 2.

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Cincinnati won it in the 10th
inning.  Ed Gremminger got things going when he reached on an error.  George
Stovall stepped up to the plate and he stroked a single.  Jimmy Barrett then
lined a single, and an error was also committed, scoring two teammates.
Charley O'Leary was up next and he singled scoring the final run of the
inning.  Despite losing, Chicago-NL out-hit Cincinnati 12 to 7.  

Noodles Hahn(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 9 innings and allowing
1 run. Hahn got help from Ed Siever who earned his 1st save.  Jack
Chesbro(0-1) was the loser.  He pitched 9 innings giving up 7 hits and 2
walks.
