Sam Leever had an impressive outing as the Pittsburgh Pirates smashed the
overmatched Washington Senators, 12 to 1.

The Washington fans didn't appreciate the big day Harry Davis had. He doubled
which scored a run in the 2nd inning, lined a base-hit in the 6th inning and
doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 8th inning. Pittsburgh kept the
pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.

The win went to Leever(1-0) who allowed 1 run in the game. Earl Moore(1-2)
absorbed the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 8 hits and 2 walks in 5
innings.
