Roy Thomas had 4 hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the New York-AL
Highlanders 7 to 1 at Exposition Park.

Pittsburgh tallied 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning.  The highlight
belonged to Sam Crawford who electrified Exposition Park when he banged out a
single bringing home two baserunners.  Pittsburgh had 11 hits for the game
and New York-AL had 3.  

Nick Altrock(1-0) went 6 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Weldon Henley
preserved the game for Altrock, recording his his 1st save.  Jack
Sutthoff(0-1) took the loss.
