The St. Louis-AL Browns plated 4 runs in the 3rd inning and cruised to a 9 to
4 victory over the Boston-AL Red Sox at Sportsman'S Park.

St. Louis-AL took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 2nd inning with 3
runs on 4 hits.  Sherry Magee led off and keyed the rally when he doubled.
Del Pratt followed next and he lined a base-hit resulting in a run.  Two outs
later Ivy Wingo came to bat and lined a single.  Ray Caldwell was up next and
he tripled adding another two runs to their total.  St. Louis-AL managed 11
hits in their victory.  

Caldwell(1-0) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Caldwell got relief
help from Ed Reulbach who gained credit for his 2nd save.  Chief Bender(0-2)
was the loser.  His ERA increased from 2.40 to 5.50 as he allowed 7 runs in 3
innings.
