one-run game at Yankee Stadium. The final score was the Cleveland Indians 7,
the New York-AL Yankees 6.
In the 4th inning Cleveland went on top for good when they scored 2 runs on 2
hits. The big moment was provided by Dale Long who disappointed the partisan
crowd when he bombed a two-run dinger. Both teams totaled 6 hits on the
afternoon.
Frank Sullivan(1-0) was the winner allowing 6 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings.
Sullivan got relief help from Bill Henry who gained credit for his 1st save.
Art Fowler(0-3) was hit with the loss. He gave up 7 runs and 5 hits in 7
innings.
'I struggled a bit out there today,' Sullivan said, 'but I toughed it out and
we got the win.'
