Kid Gleason tossed a complete game as the Philadelphia Quakers crushed the
Boston Beaneaters 16 to 5.

George Wood had a good day at the plate.  He banged out a single knocking in a
run in the 3rd inning and launched a three-run homer in the 7th inning.
Philadelphia lit up the scoreboard in the 3rd inning with 7 runs on 7 hits,
the 6th inning plating 4 runs and the 7th inning when they had 4 runs on 3
hits.  Philadelphia finished with 15 hits in the victory.  

Gleason(1-0) finished the game allowing 5 runs in the victory. John
Clarkson(0-1) was tagged with the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 15 hits
and 4 walks in 8 innings.
