Lefty Davis had 2 base hits and Jesse Tannehill had a strong outing at Robison
Field as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the St. Louis Cardinals 9 to 1.

St. Louis never recovered after Pittsburgh took the lead in the top of the 3rd
inning as they scored 3 runs on 1 base hits.  That was all the offense they
were to need.  Pittsburgh had a total of 8 hits for the game.

Tannehill(1-0) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. Bob Wicker(0-1)
absorbed the loss.  'He came out with good stuff,' Fred Clarke said about
Tannehill. 'He threw the ball good from the first pitch on.'
