One run was the difference at Yankee Stadium as the New York-AL Yankees
defeated the Cincinnati Reds in 11 innings 5 to 4.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings.  New York-AL came out on top in
the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Sid Gordon ripped a one-base
hit.  Billy Cox next to the plate and he lined a base-hit.  Eddie Robinson
then drew a walk to load the bases.  Billy Goodman followed and he lashed a
single giving New York-AL the win much to the delight of the home town crowd.
New York-AL had 9 hits for the afternoon while Cincinnati had 5.  

Bob Kuzava(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Paul
Minner(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief.  He allowed 2 hits and 1 walk
in 1 inning.
