At Ebbets Field the Brooklyn Dodgers outscored the Pittsburgh Pirates 5 to
2.

In the bottom of the 5th inning Brooklyn scored 2 runs.  The critical plate
appearance was by Andy Carey who came through for the home fans when he
tripled which was good for two runs.  Brooklyn banged out 8 hits on the
afternoon.  

The victory went to Bob Buhl(2-1) who went 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Buhl was helped out by Ray Narleski who recorded his 3rd save.  Herb
Score(0-3) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 4 hits and 6 walks in 6
innings.  

Wth the win Brooklyn now has a record of 5-7.  With the loss, Pittsburgh has a
record of 7-3 lately, 9-3 overall.
