In a great finish the Cleveland Blues came back in the top of the ninth and
held on to win over the Brooklyn Bridegrooms by a score of 7 to 6 at
Washington Park.

Cleveland had the game winning rally in the 9th inning plating 3 runs
utilizing 2 base hits.  Chief Zimmer kicked off the action when he reached on
an error.  Bill Stemmyer came to the plate and reached on an error.  Stemmyer
then ripped a one-base hit.  One out later, Ed McKean was next to bat, but he
was a strikeout victim.  Pete Hotaling stepped into the box and was walked
intentionally to load the bases.  Al Mays then threw a wild pitch which
brought home a run.  John McGlone came next and he slapped a base-hit with
two more runners crossing home.  Cleveland had 9 hits for the afternoon.

The win was credited to Jersey Bakley(1-0) who went 8 innings allowing 4 runs.
Billy Crowell recorded his 1st save.  The losing pitcher was Mays(0-1).
