The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Finally, Columbus pulled the game out in the 11th inning. Charlie Duffee led off and he stroked a base-hit. John Sneed stepped up next and he slapped a single. Wheelock then hit a sacrifice fly bringing in a run. Tom Dowse came up and he smacked a single, and an error was also committed, driving in another run. Jack Easton was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Jim McTamany joined his teammates in the uprising and drew a walk. Jack Crooks next to the plate and he singled giving Columbus the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Columbus rapped out 9 hits for the afternoon. The victory was credited to Dolan(3-0) who went the distance, allowing 4 runs. The losing pitcher was Frank Dwyer(2-4) in relief. He gave up 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings of work. 'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Dolan said.
