Ed Cartwright had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Washington Senators outscored the
Philadelphia Phillies in 10 innings 13 to 12.

The score was knotted at 11 after nine innings. Washington came out on top in
the 10th inning. Piggy Ward led off and started the rally when he drew a
walk. Ward was running on the next pitch and he stole second. Jack Taylor
then threw a high and inside pitch that got by the catcher; it was ruled a
passed ball. Bill Joyce stepped in and he worked the squeeze play to
perfection which scored a run. Charlie Abbey came to the plate and reached
on an error. Mike Sullivan kept the rally going and ripped a base-knock
scoring the final run of the inning. This was a game of many highs and lows
for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 6 times in all.

The win went to Sullivan(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Taylor(1-1) was given the loss in relief. He gave up 1 hit and 1 walk in 1
inning.
