WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Honus Wagner robbed Cozy Dolan of a base hit.

In a good matchup it was the Cincinnati Reds 8, the Pittsburgh Pirates 6 in 13
innings at Exposition Park.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Cincinnati
pulled the game out in the 13th inning. Miller Huggins got things going when
he lined a base-hit. Two outs later Cozy Dolan stepped up to the plate and
he drew a walk. Dolan was running on the next pitch and he stole second.
Joe Kelley was up next and he was walked intentionally to load the bases.
Sam Woodruff came up to bat and drew a walk which brought home a run. Tommy
Corcoran kept things alive and drew a walk scoring the final run of the
inning. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as
the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.

The winning pitcher was Claude Elliott(1-0) who allowed no runs in 3 innings.
Howie Camnitz(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit
and 4 walks in 2 innings.
