Shortstop Freddy Parent had 3 base hits as the Washington Nationals bested the
Boston-AL Americans 3 to 2 at American League Park.

Washington had 2 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning when

rally when he drew a walk. Parent stepped up next and he doubled plating a
run. One out later, Bob Ewing then doubled scoring the final run of the
inning. Boston-AL made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push
the needed runs across.
