The New York-NL Giants got by the ice-cold Washington Nationals at American
League Park.  The final score was 4 to 2.

New York-NL had the game winning rally in the top of the 8th inning scoring 3
runs using 2 hits.  Vic Willis led off and started the attack as he reached
on an error.  Patsy Dougherty followed and he drew a walk.  Ty Cobb then
laced a base-knock which scored a run.  After an out was recorded, Cy Seymour
came up and he ripped a one-base hit scoring another run.  Seymour took
second on the throw.  Jack Coombs then threw a wild pitch scoring the final
run of the inning.  The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.

Willis(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Frank Arellanes
gained credit for his 1st save.  Eddie Cicotte(0-1) was hit with the loss.
He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings giving up 8 hits and 2 walks.
