Jim Dyck had 4 hits as the Chicago-NL Cubs outscored the Cincinnati Reds in 13
innings 2 to 1.

The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings. Finally, Chicago-NL
pulled the game out in the 13th inning.  After an out was recorded, Duke
Snider laced a one-base hit.  Toby Atwell stepped up next and he drew a walk.
Dyck then slapped a base-hit giving Chicago-NL the win much to the delight
of the home town crowd.  Both teams finished the game with 9 hits.  

The win went to Eddie Yuhas(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Frank
Smith(2-1) was hit with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1/3 of an inning and
surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk.
