Jack Chesbro allowed Clark Griffith to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and center fielder Dave Fultz had 4 hits at American League Park as the
New York Highlanders beat the Washington Senators 5 to 1.

New York brought 4 runs across the plate in the 6th inning when they came up
with 4 base hits.  They would prove to be the difference in the contest.  New
York totaled 11 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory was credited to Chesbro(1-0) who went the distance, allowing 1
