Mike Mitchell had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Forbes Field where the Cincinnati
Reds beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 11 to 8.

Cincinnati jumped on top of Pittsburgh in the top of the 7th inning plating 3
runs utilizing 2 base hits.  Miller Huggins led off and got things going when
he drew a walk.  Rebel Oakes stepped up next and he lined a one-base hit.
Oakes stole second with some aggressive base running.  Dode Paskert was up
next and he hit a deep fly knocking in a run.  Hans Lobert stepped into the
box and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run.  Pittsburgh had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.  

Bob Ewing(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 5 runs. Deacon Phillippe(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief.
He was touched for 6 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings.
