Boardwalk Brown was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and third baseman Home Run Baker had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as
the Philadelphia Athletics defeated the New York Yankees 6 to 4 at Shibe
Park.

In the 7th inning Philadelphia scored 2 runs with the help of 3 hits. Stuffy
McInnis was the sparkplug when he blasted a solo shot. Tom Daley stepped
into the batter's box and he stroked a one-base hit. Daley was safe on a
stolen base. Jack Barry was up next and he lashed a single. Philadelphia
continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Jack Lapp
contributed to the rally and hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the
inning. New York was set down quietly in the 9th.

The win went to Brown(1-1) who allowed 4 runs in the game. George
McConnell(0-3) was hit with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 10 hits and 5 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
