game without help from the bullpen as the Washington Nationals topped the
Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 7 to 4 at Forbes Field.

Washington set the tone of the game in the first inning when they scored 5
runs on 4 hits. That early run support was enough for Dickson(1-2) and
Washington. Pittsburgh went down without a fight in the bottom of the 9th.

Billy Pierce(1-2) took the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up
6 runs in 5 innings.
