Stobbs(2-0) was tremendous on the mound for Chicago-NL. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 3.60 to 2.25. The left-handed Stobbs lost his no-hit bid when Steve Ridzik singled with two outs in the 6th inning. Chicago-NL managed 7 hits in their victory. Ridzik(0-1) ended up with the loss. 'Stobbs pitched a gem of a game', Roy Purcell recounted. 'He kept our batters off balance the entire game.'
