Al Kaline had 2 base hits at Municipal Stadium as the Washington Nationals
lost a heartbreaker to Cleveland Indians by the score of 6 to 5.

The deciding run was scored by Cleveland in the 9th.  Clint Courtney delivered
a single.  One out later, Willie Jones came to bat and laid down a sacrifice
bunt.  Kaline then doubled giving Cleveland the win much to the delight of
the home town crowd.  Cleveland had 9 hits for the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Sandy Consuegra(1-1) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Pedro Ramos(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He allowed 2 hits and no
walks in 2/3 of an inning.
