Frank Dwyer was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Chicago Pirates topped the Pittsburg Burghers in 11
innings by a score of 7 to 5 at Exposition Park.

The score was tied at 5 after nine.  Finally, Chicago prevailed in the 11th
inning.  Jack Boyle started the inning off right when he reached on an error.
Dwyer was next and he lashed a single, and an error was also committed.
After an out was recorded, Arlie Latham then ripped a base-hit which was good
for two runs.  Both teams finished the game with 14 hits.  

The victory was credited to Dwyer(1-0) who went the distance, allowing 5 runs.
Pud Galvin(0-2) took the loss.  He was knocked around by Chicago, allowing 14
hits and 2 walks in 11 innings.
