Lee Viau was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game and Cupid Childs had 2 base hits at League Park where the Cleveland
Spiders beat the Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings 5 to 4.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings.  Cleveland won it in
the 10th inning.  Childs led off and keyed the rally when he reached on an
error.  Spud Johnson came to the plate and drew a walk.  Patsy Tebeau then
laced a one-base hit scoring a run.  Two outs later Jesse Duryea came to bat
and let loose a wild pitch scoring the final run of the inning.  Cleveland
managed 11 hits in their victory.  

Viau(1-0) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. Duryea(0-1) was
tagged with the loss.  He allowed 5 runs and 11 hits in 10 innings.
