Ed Doheny pitched a complete game and Walt Wilmot had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at
Baker Bowl as the New York Giants beat the Philadelphia Phillies 9 to 5.

New York started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring a single run using 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Mike
Tiernan doubled.  One out later, George Davis came up and he stroked a
one-base hit scoring the run.  New York kept the pressure on throughout the
contest as they scored in 6 different innings.  

The winning pitcher was Doheny(1-2) who allowed 5 runs for the game. Red
Donahue(1-1) was charged with the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12
hits and 6 walks in 9 innings.
