The New York Giants edged the Boston Beaneaters in 10 innings at Polo Grounds
by the score of 5 to 4.

The score was tied at 4 after nine.  New York was victorious in the 10th
inning.  George Browne doubled.  George Van Haltren came next and he
delivered a base-hit.  Van Haltren was safe at second on a stolen base.  Dan
McGann followed next and he slapped a single resulting in a mighty exciting
win for New York and the 10,808 home town fans in attendance.  For the game
New York out-hit Boston 13 to 3.  

Jack Cronin(2-0) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Joe
Stanley(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief.
