WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Nap Lajoie robbed Tex Jones of a base hit.

Center fielder Shoeless Joe Jackson collected 2 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI
and Vean Gregg was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at White Sox Park as the Cleveland Naps beat the Chicago White
Sox 10 to 2.

Cleveland claimed the early lead in the first inning scoring 2 runs on 3 base
hits. Jack Graney led off and started the attack as he ripped a one-base
hit. Terry Turner stepped up next and he stroked a base-hit. George Stovall
then called for a steal which was successful. Jackson was next to bat, but
he was a strikeout victim. Nap Lajoie came up to bat and ripped a base-hit
scoring the final run of the inning. Cleveland totaled 14 hits on the
afternoon.

Gregg(1-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. The loss was
charged to Fred Olmstead(0-2). He got hit pretty hard, allowing 14 hits and
2 walks in 9 innings.
