Ned Garver tossed a complete game as the Cincinnati Reds outscored the
Cleveland Indians 5 to 2.
Cincinnati promptly took the lead in their half of the first plating 2 runs on
3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Jackie Robinson started the rally
when he stroked a one-base hit. One out later, Bob Elliott came up and he
hit a single. Elliott took second on the throw. Luke Easter then doubled
knocking home two runners. Cincinnati had a total of 11 hits for the game.
The win went to Garver(3-1) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Howie Pollet(0-1)
took the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 7 hits in 5 and 2/3 innings.
