The Chicago-NL Cubs got by the Boston-AL Red Sox at Fenway Park. The final
score was 6 to 4.
Boston-AL never recovered after Chicago-NL took the lead in the top of the 3rd
inning scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. Chicago-NL finished with
15 hits while Boston-AL ended up with 10.
The victory went to Willie Ramsdell(1-0) who went 7 and 1/3 innings, allowing
2 runs. Tom Ferrick earned the save, his 1st. Sandy Consuegra(1-1) suffered
the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 11 hits and 7
walks in 7 innings.
'I struggled a bit out there today,' Ramsdell said, 'but I toughed it out and
we got the win.'
